Description:

The Liquor Clerk is a vital role responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the liquor sales area. This position requires a friendly and efficient individual with strong sales abilities, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask effectively while handling cash transactions and stocking merchandise.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service, demonstrating positivity and a helpful attitude.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately, processing transactions and handling cash with precision.
  • Assist customers with product selection, utilizing selling techniques to maximize sales and meet customer needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales area, including stocking merchandise and ensuring proper merchandising displays.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment.
  • Perform cashiering duties, including cash handling, balancing the cash register, and processing various payment methods.
  • Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves, monitoring stock levels, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills when interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • Bag merchandise carefully and efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of cash register operation and cash handling procedures.
  • General knowledge of basic arithmetic and general mathematics.
  • Ability to lift and carry merchandise, with a demonstrated lifting ability.
  • Effective communication skills in the English language.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Possess a detail-oriented approach to tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Familiarity with merchandising techniques.
  • Prior experience in a retail or restaurant operation setting.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
