As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our electrical and mechanical automated system machines.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coordination of Installation and Preventative Maintenance:
- Coordinate and execute on-site installation and maintenance activities for electrical and mechanical automated system machines.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of production equipment to prevent failures and optimize reliability.
- Develop and maintain standards, tools, and procedures for hardware projects to ensure consistency, reliability, and efficiency.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and align electrical and mechanical components of automated system machines to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting of PLCs, motors, drives, and other control systems to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Assist in the setup, installation, and modification of new machines, ensuring they meet operational requirements and safety standards.
- Develop and maintain standards, tools, and procedures for hardware projects to ensure consistency, reliability, and efficiency.
- Monitor and assess automated systems, ensuring they meet performance standards and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to complete assigned tasks and provide support as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Operations Manager.
- Must possess Red Seal Millwright endorsement.
- More than three years of hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, with a strong preference for automation experience.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and equipment schematics.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with knowledge of motor, drives, gearboxes, belts, and bearings.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to document findings and prepare Root Cause Analysis reports.
- Willing to work overtime when required to support operational needs.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and achieve productivity targets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clear and concise communication.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
- Degree or diploma in Electromechanical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience in welding and fabrication is considered an asset.
