- Perform minor preventive maintenance and make repairs to facilities, utilities, and equipment associated with production, warehouse, and laboratories.
- Complete work under supervision by more experienced team members with increasing independence as experience, training, and job specific aptitude are gained.
- Interact with other departments to schedule activities around the production schedules of the Manufacturing, Materials Management, and Quality Control departments.
- Schedule self-performed work assigned at the beginning of the month and due by the end of the month. Escalate scheduling conflicts to the Maintenance Lead Technician.
- Follow general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions of new work and perform basic troubleshooting as it related to assigned job duties.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and delicate testing equipment in performance of duties.
- Complete non-routine repair work orders for regulated and unregulated systems. Effectively document work performed following required documentation practices.
- Enter all equipment events into CMMS and complete all required equipment forms. Assist in compiling and closeout documentation for corrective and preventive maintenance work orders.
- Escort and supervise contractors through facility for routine inspections or repairs, ensuring the completion of activities per procedure or agreements.
- Identify and order spare or replacement parts for equipment utilizing inventory management systems.
- Assist with the moving and installation of major laboratory equipment when needed.
- Recommend facility improvements to meet OSHA safety, ISPE, or FDA guidelines.
- Attend training seminars and courses as required.
- Learn and adhere to Pfizer’s standards, guidelines, and values.

- Perform preventative maintenance and repair of production and facility equipment, interpreting diagrams and schematics.
- Lead equipment modifications, review overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) data, and implement process improvements to enhance quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain GMP utilities as follows: clean steam, water for injection (WFI), purified water (PW), process cooling water, process gases (carbon dioxide, clean compressed air, nitrogen, oxygen), cryogenic liquids, process waste, and high potency waste.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain specific plant systems as follows: domestic hot and cold water, natural gas, plant steam, chilled water, compressed air, heating hot water, HVAC systems, electrical systems (emergency power, uninterruptible power), and fire protection.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on GMP equipment: walk-in cold rooms, freezers, refrigerators, other environmental controlled units (e.g., incubators), autoclaves, washers, bioreactors, jacketed tanks, purification equipment, and other ancillary equipment.
- Respond to process and building alarms 24 hours per day, 7 days per week plus occasional emergencies. Individual will be part of the on-call rotation and will be required to respond to off-hours alarms per the department schedule.
- Conduct daily utility rounds and report findings.
- Attend morning huddle and assume role of either Facilitator or Action Taker. Responsibilities may include updating metrics and key performance indicators.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience as a Maintenance Technician, Facilities Technician or appropriate trade (1 year min.).
- Demonstrated aptitude in basic mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation skills and problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of the general trades, that is, construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
- Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
- Must have the ability to follow specific instructions and procedures.
- Well-developed time management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic for developing and implanting solutions.
- Manufacturing experience and a solid understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Proficiency in basic mechanics, drive systems, and lubrication principles
- Ability to use a voltmeter to test for power presence
- Ability to read and understand diagrams and schematics.
- Knowledge of working in a GMP environment and completion of GMP documentation preferred. Knowledge of pharma utility systems and operations.
- Experience executing and documenting maintenance work order in a computerized maintenance management system.
- Completion or current enrollment in a formal technical school program related to Industrial Maintenance desired.
- Background in Cell Culture Manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and other relevant tools.

The salary for this position ranges from $23.62 to $39.36 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
