Manager, Finance & Compliance

The CAN Health Network is helping build a stronger, more competitive Canadian economy by connecting health care operators with Canadian technology companies to bring innovative solutions into the health care system. As a federally funded national network, CAN Health works with health care organizations, known as Edges, to identify pressing challenges and match them with Canadian-made solutions that can be validated, procured, and scaled across the country.

We are looking for a finance professional who is excited by meaningful work, thrives in a dynamic environment, and wants to help strengthen the operational foundation of a growing national organization.

This is an opportunity to play a central role in financial stewardship, reporting, planning, and compliance at an organization that sits at the intersection of health care, innovation, and economic growth.

CAN Health HQ is located in downtown Oakville where you will work, collaborate and build relationships. We are national and have colleagues all across Canada.

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Vice-President Corporate Affairs & Strategy, the Manager, Finance & Compliance will support the day-to-day financial operations of CAN Health and help ensure the organization has the financial discipline, insight, and reporting needed to scale effectively.

In this role, you will:

· Manage and support government funding programs, including final claims, reconciliations, audits, and documentation

· Complete accurate, timely financial claims and reports in accordance with federal and provincial funding agreement requirements

· Interpret contribution agreement terms and funding guidelines to ensure compliance and expense eligibility

· Collect, review, and validate financial information in coordination with internal teams and external collaboration partners, including cash and in-kind contributions

· Act as the primary financial point of contact for partners and funding agencies for assigned programs

· Assist with audit activities, ensuring documentation is complete, organized, and audit-ready.

· Track program-level budgets and cash flow, and support coordination of funding and partner disbursements in accordance with agreement timelines

· Prepare internal financial updates for program teams, highlighting variances, risks, and upcoming reporting requirements

· Improve financial tracking, reporting processes, and documentation within existing systems and tools.

· Prepare internal financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses for leadership and Board of Directors

· Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning

· Lead day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and monthly close with the Enterprise Services Team

· Contribute to process improvement as CAN Health continues to grow nationally

What You Bring

You are detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable balancing hands-on execution with higher-level financial analysis. You enjoy building structure, solving problems, and making finance a strong enabler for mission-driven work.

You likely bring:

· 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial operations

· A degree or diploma in finance, accounting, business, or a related field

· Professional designation (CPA or working toward CPA) is strongly preferred

· Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and reconciliations

· Comfort working in Excel and financial systems with a high level of accuracy

· Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn numbers into actionable insights

· Experience supporting audits, funding compliance, or contribution agreement reporting is an asset

· Experience in a nonprofit, public sector, health care, or innovation-focused environment is an asset

· Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information

What Will Help You Succeed

· You are proactive and dependable

· You can move comfortably between detail-oriented tasks and strategic priorities

· You communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance colleagues

· You are energized by working in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
