Mō tēnei tūranga - About the role:
The Manager Recruitment leads our high performing recruitment function, which encompasses both employee and volunteer recruitment processes and projects. Over the next six months, your key focus areas will be:
- Functional leadership of the Recruitment function, including People Leadership, team leadership, resolving escalations, budget control, organisational reporting, and media queries
- Collaboration with your Team Leaders to facilitate the creation, or implementation, of tailored recruitment strategies for their functional area of focus
- Partnering with our Marketing team (alongside the Team Lead Attraction) for the planning and agreement of the next application open round for Career Firefighters
- Driving process improvement to enhance the candidate experience and organisational value through process review, simplification and improvement
This is a fixed term or secondment opportunity until 30 June 2025, and will be based in our NHQ office in Wellington. We an immediate start date is preferable.

To be successful in this role, we’d expect you will have:
- Proven experience leading and end-to-end recruitment functions, across a range of industries, not limited to corporate recruitment
- Strong ability to lead and mentor people leaders to achieve organisational goals
- A track record of leading and delivering quality project outcomes
