The Manufacturing Supervisor oversees the analysis, repair, remanufacture, validation, and documentation of complex electromechanical assemblies. He/She also works with engineers and technicians to identify new failure modes, implement corrective/preventive actions, and develop repair instructions. He/She directs the creation and implementation of procedures, documentation, tracking tools, etc., to ensure work is performed quickly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. He/She develops, implements, and trains Reman Technicians and Production Associates to use hand tools, test equipment, and computer-based tools for the analysis and remanufacture of products and subassemblies.
The Supervisor is responsible for establishing and meetingdepartment output targets, and driving continuous improvement through theremanufacturing process. He/She provides hands-on support, training,leadership, and direction to the Reman Technicians and Associates whoremanufacture products returned from the field. He/She resolves issues toensure the successful and timely remanufacture of fields returns, and ensuresremanufactured products meet or exceed requirements and customer expectations.
What You'll Do
- Hires, trains, coaches, leads, and develops hourly team members including managing schedules, time cards, training and other tasks related to absenteeism
- Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high quality products against competing production targets
- Interacts with Engineering, Production, PC, QA, Logistics and other departments as necessary to resolve issues and concerns, and track/expedite product through the remanufacturing process.
- Monitor metrics and Key Performance Indicator's (KPI's) to assess safety, efficiency, and cost management, and develops and follows through on plans for continual improvement in all areas.
- As needed, supports teams & groups outside of primary job while still achieving performance targets.
- Implements and enforces proper material management and 5S practices.
- Manages employees’ schedules, time cards, training and other tasks related to absenteeism
What You'll Bring
- solid experience in assembly and repair of electro-mechanical components or electric motors.
- Working knowledge of high voltage DC battery systems, or basic electronics and DC electrical systems.
- Proficient with hand tools and computer-based tools, including precision measuring equipment, electrical test equipment, and computer databases.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient with computer tools, including network solutions, Word, Excel, QuickBase, Outlook, MRP, MES, and PLM. (WarpDrive, FlexNet, and Enovia a plus.)
- Ability to foster a close working relationship with team members and management.
- Must be reliable, innovative, committed, a self-starter, quality focused and have a strong sense of urgency and drive to succeed.
