Marketing & Business Development Coordinator
Introduction:
MBM is a national independent Australian-owned property consultancy that offers a diverse range of services, including Quantity Surveying, Building Consultancy, Tax & Asset Services, PPP Advisory, Infrastructure, Facilities Management Advisory, and Expert Witness services.

Description:
The Marketing & client relationship advisor will report to the Client Relationship and Business Development Manager and will collaborate with Hub Leaders. The position is focused on promoting and managing client and consultant relationships, developing strategic marketing initiatives, and driving business growth. By collaborating with project leaders, the role ensures effective client engagement strategies are executed, maintaining MBM’s reputation as a trusted partner.

This role also supports the VIC team in nurturing new and existing relationships, identifying commercial opportunities, and enhancing bid submissions to secure new projects. With a strong emphasis on marketing, relationship management, and strategic planning, the Advisor contributes significantly to the overall growth and visibility of MBM in the region.

Client and Consultant Relationship Management: Lead VIC management of consultant and client relationships

Map out target sectors and related contacts
Conduct meetings with VIC team to establish relationship status with existing and new clients, and inform strategy to achieve commercial relationship objectives
Support VIC project leaders to maintain, nurture, and seek out new relationships, including developing an understanding of where relationships sit with individuals in the MBM business
Identify internal opportunities to expand state-based/geographical relationships and make strategic introductions across the national business.
Plan client engagement activities in collaboration with the wider marketing team (roundtables, engagement with industry associations, marketing initiatives and events etc) that support client engagement strategies

Business Development (BD) and Client Relationship Management (CRM) for MBM VIC

Arrange and attend BD catch ups, extending to MBM technical experts as appropriate
Attend industry events, represent the MBM business, and engage the Melbourne team in strategic and beneficial external initiatives within property and construction
Seek out new connections that align with MBM’s marketing and client strategy
Collect industry information – including but not limited to industry trends, competitor analyses, public and private tender requirements, and relevant regulation
Manage relationships with industry partners, sponsors, professional bodies in the construction industry, and not-for-profit organisations that are relevant to the VIC team
Nurture leads for the VIC team across relevant sectors and identify commercial opportunities for new introductions to MBM teams nationally

CRM Management: Maintain MBM’s CRM platform

Proactive CRM management and tracking of activities, leads, and opportunities
Maintain database of MBM’s VIC contacts
Provide CRM training as necessary to teams
Use information to inform future marketing activities

Tender Reviews and Strategic Planning: Support VIC project leaders and VIC bidding coordinator on key bids

Support and advise on key bids in the public and private sector utilising expertise from existing relationships and project experience to strengthen tender submissions
Assist the Melbourne Directors and wider team through effective, concise, and compelling written content
Provide guidance on tender submission improvements with regard to content/approach based on market knowledge, client priorities, changing market trends, debrief sessions, and other internal/external feedback
Review key bids prior to submission to ensure excellent quality and approach based on market knowledge

Other notes:
The focus of the role is expanding the VIC team’s presence amongst consultants and private sector clients, and elevating bids with a strong focus on the client
The role works within the marketing team to deliver an effective client engagement strategy in VIC
While not explicitly responsible for the delivery of events, the individual will need to work with the Marketing & BD Coordinator and VIC office manager on client engagement initiatives, including the annual client party
Experience in property/construction in VIC is essential - we should come with an established network in VIC and have the drive to nurture new and existing relationships
Excellent writing skills are essential, and some exposure to property/construction bid writing will be viewed favorably
Some foundational marketing experience is essential, however a willingness to learn and engage with the market is most important
