Mō tēnei tūranga | About the opportunity
As the Marketing Manager – Sustainability & On-farm Success, you will lead the charge in developing and executing marketing strategies and campaigns that bring our Co-operative Sustainability vision and Farm Source On-farm Success programs to life for our valued farmers. Your role will be instrumental in driving awareness, engagement, and belief in our sustainability initiatives and support services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the integrated marketing executional program for the Sustainability story and positioning of the Farm Source brand, aligning with Fonterra's sustainability strategy and the value of On-farm excellence.
- Productize Farm Source On-farm support services by developing compelling value propositions that showcase the benefits to our farmer and integrate them into our annual calendar of activities.
- Support the Compliance and Simplification program through robust communication plans to drive farmer awareness and understanding of compliance requirements and progress towards our goal of saving our farmers 1M hours in paperwork annually.
- Source and analyze information to unlock insights for growth, understanding farmer needs and beliefs in our sustainability strategy and support services.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Lead team within Farmer Experience to ensure alignment and integration of sustainability and On-farm success into our total value proposition.

You must be highly organised, proactive, bring second-to-none communication skills and an ability to effectively engage with people from all parts of the industry. You will need to be resilient, able to negotiate tricky situations and stakeholders, and have excellent attention to detail. Naturally curious and passionate about the agriculture space, your customer focused approach and ability to build rapport quickly will help you succeed in this rewarding role.
Other key requirements include:
- Tertiary qualification in marketing or communications.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Marcomms roles, demonstrating ownership and consistent delivery of results across the marketing mix.
- Experience in key marketing management activities such as brand management, communications, content creation, and managing agency relationships.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Strategic agility to assess and implement marketing strategies aligned with wider business goals.
- Customer-focused with experience in translating customer insights into actionable strategies.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to drive change and achieve high-performing results through effective leadership and relationship management.
