Maths & English Tutor — Lynn's Learning, Berwick

Casual | Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:00–7:00pm, during school terms

Are you a uni student with strong maths and English skills looking for casual work that builds real experience? Lynn's Learning Berwick is looking for a tutor to join our team — ideal if you're studying teaching, education, or just love working with kids.

The role

You'll work with students from Prep to Year 10 in both Maths and English. Our sessions run one-on-one within a classroom space, so it's a fast-paced environment — you'll move from student to student, teaching new concepts, correcting mistakes, answering questions, and keeping the room focused and on task.

Each session is 3 hours, with two sessions a week available (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:00–7:00pm — up to 6 hours per week). Additional shifts are available at our Hampton Park, Endeavour Hills and Dandenong centres if you'd like more hours.

We provide induction training to get you started, then you'll build your skills on the job with support from experienced staff.

What we're looking for

• Strong maths and English skills up to Year 10 level (including essay writing and problem-solving)
• The ability to explain a concept clearly — and re-explain it a different way when a student doesn't get it the first time
• Confidence managing a classroom of kids: keeping students focused and minimising distraction
• Quick thinking — you'll switch between different students, subjects and year levels constantly
• Reliability across the school term: our students depend on seeing you every week
• A genuine enjoyment of working with children

Requirements

• Completed Year 12 (current uni students strongly encouraged to apply)
• Employee Working with Children Check — required before starting (it's free for employees, and we'll help you apply if your application is successful)
• Current Victorian driver's licence and your own car — required, as tutors cover shifts across our centres
