Mcgimsey Scout Park Ranger

The Alamo Area Council has an immediate opening for a Ranger for McGimsey Scout Park. McGimsey Scout Park is a 140-acre camp in North Central San Antonio. The Park hosts Cub Scout Day Camps, Family and Unit Camping Events and numerous youth and adult leader training courses throughout the year.

The Ranger for the property is responsible for the day to day maintenance, upkeep, and security of the facilities and equipment at McGimsey Scout Park and the neighboring main office building. Another responsibility is basic customer service activities like checking campers in and out of the facilities and seeing to their needs during their stay.

The Ranger is required to live on site in the private ranger's residence, and is provided a four bedroom, 1.5 bath, single story home located on the property with utilities (Electricity, Water, Garbage) included. We hold 1 months rent for deposit on the house. Value of the house and utilities is estimated around $2000 per month (annual value of $24,000). Other benefits are a company vehicle, phone, computer, and a generous PTO schedule.

Compensation is dependent on qualifications with a starting salary of 25,000 a year. Housing and basic utilities are provided at no additional cost.

Qualifications:

-Qualified candidates will be over 21 and possess at least a high school diploma or GED.

-Must be willing to live on site in provided housing.

-Must have experience in plumbing, electrical, construction, HVAC, or landscape maintenance trades. Any application not showing this experience will not be reviewed.

-Must be a self-starter and able to prioritize and manage own work schedule.

-Proficient in basic Microsoft Office/Internet software.

-Good communication skills and good people skills are necessary.

-Scouting experience is a bonus.
