Job Purpose:
As a Mechanical Detailer/Drafter, you will use computer-aided software under the direction of the engineering manager, to detail, review, modify, and design engineering drawings used for manufacturing. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary design and engineering team to support the manufacturing, installing, and commissioning of mechanized structural systems such as gantry and overhead bridge cranes. The ideal candidate will follow directions while working to develop their engineering skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create detailed prints for manufacturing, with necessary weld symbols and all pertinent dimensions for machining and assembly
- Develop, design, and modify detailed drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment to incorporate as-built changes, red lines, and shop modifications using CAD software
- Capability to modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities, have an acute attention to detail, the ability to receive direction, and be a high-energy team player with the ability to work both independently and in a group environment
- Revise drawings
- Create DXF files with burn and cut patterns for material ordering
- Generate accurate cut lists from BOMs
- Print and distribute PDF shop drawings
- Other Duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Proficient with CAD software; Autodesk Inventor, preferred
- AA degree or higher in drafting or engineering disciplines or current enrollment in an engineering program
- Knowledge of and experience with engineering principles
- Knowledge of weld symbols, GD&T, and dimensioning methods
- Must be able to communicate with a team effectively
- Must be self-driven and results-oriented
- Must be precise and have an eye for detail
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, Outlook
- This position is expected to be 100% onsite at the Spokane, WA WEMCO facility
