POSITION TITLE: Medical Assistant I (entry level)
DEPARTMENT: Medical
REPORTS TO: Care Team Operations Supervisor
SUPERVISION GIVEN: None
LOCATION: Fairfield/Travis, CA
SCHEDULE: 20 hours a week, part time (Mon to Fri)
PAY RANGE: $24.18 to $29.56/hr

It offers comprehensive care, including medical, dental, behavioral health and substance use treatment, nutrition, optometry, pharmacy, care coordination, referrals, and enrollment assistance to more than 70,000 individuals, and no one is turned away due to lack of insurance, immigration status, or ability to pay. Many services are offered outside of its sites, including mobile health, home visiting, and community and school-based programs.

JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant I ensure optimum patient care through the efficient rooming of patients, exhibiting good communication with patients and other staff, performing medical procedures, providing patient education, follow-up care instructions, and completing daily documentation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Satisfactory completion of an accredited medical assistant program in California; CA Medical Assistant certification required.
- Phlebotomy Certificate required for some locations.
- Entry level position up to one year of experience.
- Must certify and remain current in CPR.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; Bilingual (English/Spanish) language required.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
- Computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite, strong data entry skills; electronic health record system required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail required.
