The University of Westminster is recruiting a Mentoring Intern to support the delivery of its award-winning Future Ready Mentoring programmes. The successful candidate will be a University of Westminster graduate.
This opportunity comes at an exciting time for the University of Westminster, as investment has been granted to significantly expand its mentoring provision to students, in view of long-term ambitions to offer every student a work-based learning opportunity as part of their studies.
Future Ready Mentoring offers students and recent graduates the chance to learn from a professional mentor during their studies – supporting over 1500 students and recent graduates annually. Future Ready Mentoring offers three distinct types of career mentoring options to students and recent graduates to support their employability and career prospects, including the award-winning Career Mentoring Programme, Ask a Mentor service and Group Mentoring.
The Mentoring Intern will assist with delivery of the Ask a Mentor Service, including receiving applications and matching mentees to appropriate mentors for one-off conversations. As a form of short-term mentoring, the Ask a Mentor Service currently supports almost 300 students and recent graduates a year, involving a large network of mentors who are volunteers from across our alumni, supporter and employer community. The role will contribute ideas for marketing campaigns which will increase participation in our programmes and also provide some administrative support for the Career Mentoring Programme and Group Mentoring branches of Future Ready Mentoring.
The successful candidate will work as part of the Mentoring Team, situated within the Alumni Relations Office, to deliver against ambitious targets for Future Ready Mentoring at Westminster.
The postholder will have excellent organisation skills and experience of working in an office environment with the ability to understand and prioritise customer needs as well as respond to enquiries in a professional manner.
The University offers an exceptional benefits package, which includes 35 days annual leave, a generous occupational pension scheme, subsidised gym membership, and flexible working opportunities.
