An excellent opportunity has arisen within the company for a Mine Mechanical Craftsperson in the Mine Assets Department. In this role you will be reporting to the Shift Supervisor. As the Mine Mechanical Craftsperson, you will be responsible for the maintenance of underground fixed infrastructure e.g. Mine Hoist, Conveyors, Crushers, Pumping and Ventilation.
It is the responsibility of the Mine Mechanical Craftsperson to perform preventative maintenance and breakdown maintenance on systems in an efficient manner ensuring good housekeeping and safety standards.

This position will be open to both external and internal applicants
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical maintenance and/or repair of equipment in the Mine Assets Department.
- Installing new equipment as and when appropriate.
- Conducting all relevant preventative maintenance (PM) tasks as specified by relevant supervisor daily.
- Conducting all relevant corrective (reactive) maintenance (CM) tasks as and when required.
- Participation in technical and lubrication programme work as directed and or/scheduled.
- Constructing and assembling mechanical systems.
- Assist with continuous monitoring of performance of all machinery and equipment.
- Proactive machine/equipment fault-finding, repair and problem solving.
- Implement all safe working procedures, standards, practices, rules, regulations and instructions in line with Boliden policies.
- Work towards achieving all relevant KPIs set out for Maintenance Department e.g. breakdown response time, minimising downtime, etc.
Experience & Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years in the mining / heavy industry with considerable exposure to fixed equipment functionality.
One of the following is essential: A SOLAS approved Craft qualification or recognised qualification as a trained Fitter/Mechanic

- Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team and with own initiative
- Equipment knowledge and skills for this function
- Experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
- Experience with both Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective/Reactive Maintenance

- This is a full-time role and will consist of Shift work including nights and weekends.
