The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Mining Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the Mining team to achieve safety, environmental, cost and production objectives at our Phosphate Hill operations. This role plays a critical part in delivering safe, reliable and cost‑effective production while ensuring strong contractor relationships and compliance with legislative and company requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Championing Zero Harm through strong safety leadership and compliance with HSE standards and legislation
Leading the mining and production teams through effective recruitment, coaching and performance management
Delivering safe and reliable production in line with agreed schedules and operational standards
Driving continuous improvement and efficiency across mining and gypsum operations
Managing operating budgets and contributing to annual and long‑term financial planning
Building and maintaining effective relationships with mining contractors, regulators and internal stakeholders
What you’ll bring
You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high performance culture
Tertiary qualification in Mining or Civil Engineering
Proven leadership experience in mining or heavy industrial environments
Demonstrated capability in managing mining contracts and contractor performance
Strong operational, financial and stakeholder management skills
Experience working within Qld Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health act and regulation, and ideally the ability to obtain a Site Senior Executive notice.

The Site – Phosphate Hill
Northern Australian Operations consists of an Ammonium Phosphate Mine and Processing Plant (Phosphate Hill) and Sulphuric Plant (Mt Isa) in North Queensland. The facilities comprise of ammonia, beneficiation, phosphoric acid, granulation and sulphuric acid plants plus infrastructure, utilities, power generation and housing to support the permanent workforce.
