Colm Quinn Motorstore Athlone is seeking a qualified Motor Technician to join our busy workshop team in a role focused on preparing high-quality used vehicles for sale across multiple premium brands.
This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys variety, precision workmanship, and working across different vehicle marques, ensuring every vehicle leaving our dealership meets the high standards our customers expect.
Working within a professional and supportive aftersales environment, you will play a key role in preparing vehicles to a retail-ready standard, supporting both our sales and service teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare used vehicles to a high retail standard prior to sale
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
- Perform vehicle health checks and identify any mechanical or safety concerns
- Conduct diagnostic testing using appropriate measuring and diagnostic equipment
- Complete work orders accurately, detailing repairs completed, labour and parts used
- Remove and install vehicle components in line with manufacturer procedures
- Carry out preparation work for new vehicles when required
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer standards and safety regulations
- Report additional faults or delays to the Workshop Controller or Service Manager
- Maintain accurate records of labour hours and materials used
- Ensure vehicles are clean, protected and presented to the highest standard
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified Motor Technician
- Have at least 1 year workshop experience
- Be comfortable working across multiple vehicle brands
- Demonstrate strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Take pride in high-quality workmanship and attention to detail
- Be a team player who works efficiently in a busy workshop environment
- Hold a full driving licence
