Multi-Skilled Technician

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Multi-skilled Technician to join our hotel’s Engineering & Maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a background in hotel facility maintenance, with proven skills across multiple trades including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and basic carpentry. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on guest rooms, public areas, and hotel equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults, plumbing leaks, air conditioning units, and mechanical systems.
• Carry out basic carpentry and painting tasks as needed.
• Monitor building systems (e.g. fire alarms, elevators, HVAC) and report issues proactively.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Assist with room inspections, asset inventory, and scheduled maintenance logs.
• Respond promptly to guest service requests related to maintenance issues.
• Follow hotel safety procedures and ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience in general maintenance within a hospitality or hotel environment (minimum 2–3 years preferred).
• Technical training or certification in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of hotel-specific systems such as BMS (Building Management Systems) and fire safety panels is an advantage.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and safety documents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labor tasks.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in a 3-star, 4-star, or 5-star hotel setting.
• Familiarity with guest room equipment (e.g. minibars, safes, thermostats).
• Experience with hotel maintenance software or maintenance request systems.

Education:

• High school diploma or technical/vocational qualification.
• Trade certification(s) in relevant disciplines (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.) is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Rotating shifts (including weekends and holidays)
• On-call availability for emergencies
• Working indoors/outdoors and at heights or in confined spaces, as needed
