National Sales Manager - Safegard

Safegard Systems, based in Bray, Ireland and part of the Swegon Group, are leading Specialists in fire dampers, smoke dampers and damper control & monitoring systems.

Position Summary:

Swegon are recruiting for an energetic, enthusiastic and experienced National Sales Manager to increase the profitable sales of Safegard and Swegon products, ensuring targets and budgets are achieved, through the use of a system sales approach. To be successful in this role, you will need a solid background in sales with experience in monitoring market trends and the ability to agree and implement product sales strategies. As this role will report directly into the Managing Director, you will need to liaise with both the Business Unit Director and the MD and agree on the best strategies to implement as well as providing insight and any changes or developments within the market. You will also manage, lead and coach the internal and external sales teams.

Main duties and responsibilities: (This is not an exhaustive list and is subject to change)

  • Implement and maintain the sales team and relevant external agents KPI’s.
  • Work closely with the MD, Group Sales Leaders and Group Product Managers to ensure a good line of communication is maintained between Sales and Product development / R&D sharing ideas and initiatives to grow the business
  • Close collaboration with Group Sales Leaders and Business Development Managers to support each other’s roles and responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor both the Internal and External Sales Teams performance against agreed targets
  • Deliver CPD’s to consultants and contractors and develop the team to carry out their own CPD presentations with support as required
  • Develop annual budgets and sales Targets with MD and BU Director
  • Ensure that any personal sales targets are achieved
  • Monitor the sales by area and plan proactive growth strategies
  • Ensure all training needs are assessed and training plans implemented
  • Perform quarterly staff objective reviews of sales team
  • Manage the Sales CRM and Quotation system and ensure that all sales staff adhere to the set procedural guidelines and update the CRM on a regular basis
  • Attend and participate in management meetings
  • Carry out any tasks that can be reasonably achieved when expected to do so by the company directors
  • Use the CRM to record contacts and appointments made
  • Manage any updates to the ERP system with supplier pricing information with the Supply Chain team
  • Control and monitor expense spending and claims by the Sales team
  • Resolve any customer issues or disputes that may arise from time to time in a professional and courteous manner in the best interests of the Company
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant company procedures and processes.
  • Manage the recruitment, supervision, coaching / development and discipline of all direct reports.
  • Gain insight of customer feedback and satisfaction levels, and respond to any customer complaints
  • Provide regular forecast information on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in the marketing activities of the Safegard & Swegon brand and products, working closely with the central marketing team for local requirements.
  • Use efficient and effective methods to communicate all product information, sales initiatives group announcements etc.
  • Maintain good working relationships with management colleagues, customers and suppliers.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in customer facing sales or technical support role
  • Sales team leadership Qualifications: Essential
  • 3rd Level qualification in Engineering, Business or Manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Sales leadership in HVAC industry
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC sector building regs and legislation
