What we’re looking for a New Energy Analyst/Specialist
Wallenius Wilhelmsen has committed to reach net-zero GHG emissions by 2040 and is already acting in this direction. The regulatory landscape is becoming more complex, while a number of new fuels, fuel production methods and certification schemes are emerging.
We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join us in the role of New Energy Analyst/Specialist at our office in Lysaker in Oslo.
As part of the Marine Operations Management, the role will be responsible for activities and projects related to sustainable energy and low carbon fuels. This includes maintaining an overview of the sustainable energy markets, fuel certification requirements, building relationships with fuel producers, and exploring options for sourcing new types of fuels. Analytical skills are required for modelling and assessing strategies for reaching the companies targets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, while remaining cost effective and competitive. The role will report to VP Energy and Regulations and will have a strong link to the company’s decarbonization taskforce.

Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Subject matter expert on future fuels, relevant regulations and standards for the shipping industry.
- Maintain insights and network within the sustainable energy markets and potential future suppliers of sustainable fuels.
- Stay abreast of trends, pricing and supply chain developments within the field.
- Modelling and analysis of fuel pathways for achieving targets while optimizing cost.
- Provide advisory and presentation material on future fuels.
- Lead and participate in projects with internal and external stakeholders, relevant for the role.
- Identify and develop partnership opportunities in the sustainable energy domain.
- Collaborate with internal decarbonization task force and other project teams as relevant.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience, preferably from shipping
- Good understanding of emissions regulations for shipping
- Good understanding of fuel regulations and certification
- Excellent analytical capabilities
- Established network within the new energy sector is an advantage
- Proven experience in project and stakeholder management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
