Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
• Diagnose acute and chronic conditions across specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and emergency medicine.
• Manage medication administration, including injections, IV infusions, and dermal fillers, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks.
• Perform procedures such as suturing, catheterization, spinal taps, and sterile processing techniques with precision and adherence to aseptic protocols.
• Coordinate care through case management, discharge planning, utilization review, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
• Provide telehealth consultations utilizing telehealth platforms to extend access to quality care remotely.
• Collaborate with physicians and specialists in hospital settings such as Level I trauma centers or ICU units for complex cases involving trauma, infectious disease care, or acute pain management.
• Document all patient interactions accurately using CPT coding and ICD coding standards; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient care standards.

Requirements

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice in the relevant state or region.
• Proven experience in diverse clinical environments including hospital medicine, emergency room, ICU, dialysis centers, or nursing homes.
• Strong proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; experience with medical imaging and laboratory processing is a plus.
• Demonstrated skills in performing advanced procedures like sonography, gastroscopy (gastric lavage), venipuncture, and airway management.
• Critical care experience in settings like ICU or Level II trauma centers; experience with pediatric (PICU) or neonatal ventilator management is desirable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, CPT coding practices, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams including behavioral health specialists and occupational health providers.
• Excellent patient care skills with a focus on compassionate communication and education across diverse populations including children and seniors.
• Familiarity with infection control protocols and sterile technique; experience in hospice & palliative medicine or memory/dementia care is advantageous. • 3 days per week in the post-acute setting

Pay: $250.00 - $500.00 per day
