About the Role
The Nurse Practitioner is an expert nurse within an area of practice incorporating advanced knowledge and skills. Nurse practitioners as advanced clinicians will be expected to self-regulate and practice within their area of competence and experience. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will ensure that patient health needs are met through the provision of the diagnosis and the management of patient conditions through the assessment, treatment and review planning process in partnership with patients.
The post holder will provide care to people with a focus on assessing, diagnosing, treating, empowering and supporting patients and their whanau using evidenced-based knowledge and skills to achieve optimal health outcomes.

About the Team / Service / Location
You will be working alongside a wide team of multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals in Medical Oncology. We provide a SACT service in Whangarei, Kaitaia and BOI soon to be opening in Dargaville. In addition, the new Radiation Oncology build is due to open in 2026, completing cancer care provided in Te Tai Tokerau Great news for our patients!
Work within a tight knit specialist team in the beautiful Te Tai Tokerau, and within the wider Regional team, you will always be supported to grow personally and professionally.

About you
- Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) as a nurse practitioner and holder of a current annual practicing certificate (APC)
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a specific area of practice
- Completion of an approved clinical Masters degree / NP programme
- A personal commitment to ongoing learning, development and quality improvement
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) including report writing.
