Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a Corporate Finance Officer.
What are the Roles and Responsibilities?
The Corporate Finance Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining financial models to support strategic decision-making, financial planning, and business growth initiatives, in line with the organization’s mandate on balance sheet optimization and liquidity management.
The Officer will work closely with the Corporate Finance Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, forecast business performance, and generate actionable insights that enhance profitability and drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial & Liquidity Management
- Develop, implement, and actively manage the company’s annual and long-term liquidity plan, including regular monitoring and optimization of cash positions.
- Monitor liquidity targets and capital allocation plans across regional and international business units.
- Monitor capital allocation thresholds and key treasury performance metrics.
Portfolio & Asset Management
- Drive capital asset optimization initiatives to maximize return on investment.
- Identify idle or underutilized assets and conduct best use analyses (lease, sale, or redeployment).
- Collaborate on remittance of regional investment proceeds to URC Philippines.
- Provide ongoing performance reviews of portfolio companies versus financial and strategic targets.
Treasury Reporting & Governance
- Ensure accuracy and timely submission of:
- Executive daily market reports
- Monthly Treasury dashboards (local and international)
- Cash balance summaries
- Equity investment performance reports
- Foreign exchange exposure and performance reports
- Oversee payment execution related to share buybacks, dividends, subscriptions, and treasury-related expenses.
- Coordinate bi‑annual dividend payouts with the Corporate Secretary.
- Ensure all treasury and corporate finance processes adhere to internal policies and financial control standards.
Funding Support for Mergers, Acquisitions & Venture Capital
- Support M&A and venture capital transactions by evaluating funding structures, financing options, and liquidity requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., banks, advisors) to facilitate funding execution, including debt raising and capital allocation.
- Assess the impact of transactions on balance sheet, cash flow, and leverage metrics to ensure alignment with funding strategy.
- Review and validate valuation models, investment returns, and capitalization structures to support funding decisions.
- Monitor post-investment funding utilization and track financial performance against investment assumptions.
What are the Qualifications?
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management Engineering, or a related field.
- CFA charter holder or currently pursuing the CFA program is an advantage.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 3–4 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, investment banking, financial planning and analysis, business advisory services or Bank-related Treasury/Trust services.
- Background in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis (preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or related industries.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with knowledge of financial statements, valuation methods, and investment analysis.
- Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated capability to handle complex financial projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial insights.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling tools, and data visualization platforms.
