Online Phonics Teacher

Minimal admin work required. Syllabus, course structure, and materials are provided, no lesson planning required. We equip teachers with everything they need for effective and engaging classes. All the teacher has to do is to bring the enthusiasm, deliver the class up to the school’s standards, and prioritise the students' progress above all else.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and interactive phonics lessons following the provided curriculum and syllabus
• Adapt teaching techniques to cater to individual student needs
• Conduct classes with enthusiasm and energy to keep students motivated
• Teach phonics to children from 4-8 yrs, either in a group setting (max 4 per class) or through individual classes
• Use basic Zoom functions for conducting online classes
• Use Canva slides to deliver engaging classes. Slides will be provided to you.
• Syllabus and curriculum will be provided to you.
• To provide periodic feedback to parents via the teacher's portal
• To deliver effective and engaging classes that are up to the school's standard
• Mark attendance for each lesson

We are looking for teachers who...

• Are committed to deliver high energy and highly engaging classes
• Have a basic understanding of phonics sounds and phonics blending
• Are willing to learn and teach advanced phonics rules
• Minimum 2-5 years experience teaching or interacting with preschool kids in any setting
• Enjoy working with children
• Are invested in students' progress and success
• Genuinely want their students to do well and improve
• Are energetic and cheerful teachers who are confident of delivering engaging classes
• Know how to adjust the provided syllabus according to each child's learning needs
• Put the focus on their students being able to read independently
• Are willing to learn how to teach online classes. Online teaching experience is not necessary.

Timings:

• Priority will be given to teachers who are able to take classes on weekday evenings as demand for classes is higher during that timing.

Training:

• Training will be provided so that teachers can deliver engaging classes according to our syllabus and class philosophy.
• Training will be done over Zoom. Time/day can be arranged according to availability
• Depending on teacher’s expertise, will need 3-5 training sessions

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
