Primary objective
Support health service leaders to improve outcomes by analysing business operations to identify improvement opportunities and
partner across various Department of Health operational and enabling functions to drive the design, resourcing and
implementation of new or redesigned models of care.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Source, analyse and summarise data, research and benchmarking to identify opportunities for improvements in operational

processes and health service delivery.
2. Provide high quality, timely, evidence-based analysis and project management to support health service reform development

and delivery.
3. Partner with stakeholders across clinical and enabling/strategic functions to design, resource and deliver collaborative health

service reform projects.
4. Coordinate and provide advice and support to working groups and steering committees in order to drive the successful

implementation of reform programs into frontline clinical services.
5. Prepare high quality project documentation, including business cases, briefings, reports and other material.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being

undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated project management experience including ability to develop and deliver implementation and evaluation plans.
2. Well-developed problem-solving skills, using sound judgement and lateral thinking to identify and resolve issues
3. Highly developed written, oral and interpersonal skills and the ability to consult, collaborate and negotiate effectively with a

broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
4. Demonstrated experience and skills in analysing trends in service and program delivery and developing recommendations for

senior leadership to improve service outcomes.
5. Demonstrated experience using appropriate technology to source, analyse and summarise relevant data and benchmarking

information to make a case for change, and monitor progress against key performance indicators.

Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in a business, health or management discipline.
2. Well-developed knowledge of public health service delivery issues and challenges in the Northern Territory.
