Join Tesla's Autobidder Operations team and help manage the world's largest fleet of battery storage projects—from utility-scale systems to virtual power plants. We're seeking a proactive Operations Analyst to operate our in-house automated trading platform, ensuring seamless performance in global energy markets.
You'll leverage your expertise in energy storage systems to meet contractual obligations, comply with market rules, troubleshoot battery and algorithm issues, and escalate to trading, algorithm, and service engineering teams. As part of a global, collaborative group, you'll drive continuous improvements in battery revenues, accelerate storage adoption, and support high-renewable power systems—advancing Tesla's mission to transition the world to sustainable energy. We value action-oriented individuals who communicate effectively across functions and thrive in fast-paced teams.
What You'll Do
- Actively monitor Autobidder via structured on-call and alert rotations to ensure seamless participation in global energy markets
- Oversee battery system health, collaborating with internal teams to diagnose and resolve issues for maximum availability and performance
- Analyze battery behavior against expected market outcomes (e.g., frequency response, wholesale awards), identify discrepancies to avoid penalties, and provide actionable feedback to algorithms and trading engineers
- Contribute to real-time battery trading, optimizing operational efficiency in dynamic energy markets.
- Manage fleet outages by processing requests from internal and external stakeholders (e.g., DNO outages, service activities, firmware updates) to maximize uptime
- Maintain and update internal documentation, such as playbooks and runbooks, for team accuracy and accessibility
- Communicate effectively with customers, third parties, electricity system operators, and national market entities (e.g., in the UK and France) to support smooth daily operations
- Develop and refine procedures, identifying automation opportunities to boost efficiency and scalability
- Support new market entries by configuring tools, reviewing regulations and norms, and documenting insights on shared platforms
- Collaborate with the broader Autobidder team to challenge ideas, drive innovation, and foster continuous improvement
What You'll Bring
- 2+ years in a technical or operational role, ideally in energy or related sectors
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time in a fast-paced environment
- Strong documentation skills for clear, accurate, and detailed recording of processes and interaction.
- Experience with energy or industrial storage systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English; fluency in another European language (French or German preferred)
- Collaborative team player with a passion for shared goals and a drive to excel
