About The Role
Are you an experienced operational leader who understands how ecological consultancy really works? Do you know what it takes to turn technical excellence into predictable, high-quality delivery? Are you at your best building systems, rhythms and governance that allow senior technical leaders to focus on growth, clients and market positioning?
Due to continued growth and increasing project complexity, we’re looking for an Operations Manager to grow and develop the operational foundations of our ecology teams across Ireland.
Our fast-growing ecology division delivers complex ecological services across Ireland, including EIARs, Natura Impact Statements, habitat mapping, restoration and biodiversity strategies for public and private sector clients across renewables, infrastructure, conservation and government. This role provides the operational backbone of the division, creating the governance, delivery discipline and commercial control needed to scale sustainably, while supporting the Divisional Director on strategy, work winning and market positioning.
You will lead day-to-day operations across the division, aligning people, processes and commercial controls to create an efficient, high-performing delivery environment. You’ll embed consistent project management standards, strengthen QA and escalation pathways, oversee financial forecasting, utilisation and resourcing, and translate strategic growth ambitions into executable operational plans. Working closely with Finance, Project Managers and senior ecologists, you’ll develop commercial competency frameworks and support upskilling to create a resilient and scalable team structure.
What you’ll bring:
- Senior operational leadership within ecology, environmental consultancy or similar technical field.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen (forecasting, margin management, revenue recognition, pipeline alignment).
- Proven experience building PM discipline and operational governance.
- Understanding of ecological/environmental consultancy delivery: fieldwork seasonal cycles, EIAR workflows, statutory requirements, seasonal resourcing.
- Excellent people and stakeholder engagement.
It would be beneficial if you also have:
- Understanding of Irish and EU environmental legislation, planning processes and consenting ecology.
- Experience in multi-office, distributed teams.
- Chartered or related professional membership.
You will be offered the chance to work on a variety of projects, many of our employees have worked on projects that have been of personal interest to them. We match this with a commitment to continuous development and learning to support your career. We also offer benefits to look after you, from private medical insurance for all employees, access to mental health first aiders and comprehensive income protection if you cannot work. We also offer superb flexible working options, balancing work with your life.
Next steps
We are focused on creating a diverse and inclusive team. If you can’t tick every box on our job description, then we are still keen to hear from you and are open to supporting your development. That may be working part time or supporting you to gain experience in a specific area – we are a growing company and are able to adapt roles to reflect individual skills.
If you think you have what it takes to join our fast-growing business, then please apply immediately on our website. All we need some basic information and your CV, we will review all applications quickly and will respond to all applications.
