An Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of a freight forwarding company, ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods. This role involves managing teams, optimizing processes, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and vendors. Key responsibilities include developing operational strategies, coordinating logistics, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Overseeing Operations: Managing the day-to-day activities of the freight forwarding team, including transportation, warehousing, and customs brokerage.
2. Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
3. Team Management: Leading and motivating a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and performance feedback.
4. Client and Vendor Relations: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders in the supply chain.
5. Compliance: Ensuring all operations comply with local and international regulations.
6. Performance Monitoring: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying areas for improvement.
7. Cost Management: Optimizing costs associated with transportation, warehousing, and other operational areas.
8. Problem Solving: Addressing and resolving operational issues and challenges that may arise.
9. Innovation: Identifying and implementing new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
10. Business Development: Contributing to the growth of the business by developing new clients and expanding existing relationships.
Required Skills and Experience:
- With a Bachelor's Degree in any course.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, and freight forwarding practices.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage performance, and foster a positive work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve operational issues.
- Familiarity with local and international regulations related to freight forwarding.
- Understanding of business principles and the ability to contribute to the growth of the business.
