Optometric Technician/Optical Sales Associate

We are excited to offer the opportunity for an Optometric Technician/Receptionist to join our boutique, well-established practice in San Leandro. The ideal candidate will strive to provide the best patient experience by exemplifying excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and willingness to learn and grow our practice. We are located walking distance from the San Leandro BART station. This is a full-time position and requires Saturday availability.

Requirements:

1) 1 year+ experience in an Optometry private practice (required)

2) Ability to work on Saturdays (required)

3) Ability to perform contact lens I/R trainings (required)

4) Ability to speak Spanish (required)

5) Ability to operate equipment such as icare, A/R, topographer, OCT, visual field (required).

6) Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks and responsibilities for yourself and your team in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment (required)

7) Has a strong foundation of the optical industry (frames, lenses, contact lenses, insurances, billing) (required)

8) Excellent computer skills and a solid foundation of MS Office (word, excel), and Google (gmail, drive). (required)

9) Effective verbal and written communication with staff and patients. (required)

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

1) Manage the daily operations of the department and ensure that the sales goals are met and tasks are prioritized and completed.

2) Work closely with the Manager to ensure good staff and patient satisfaction

3) Provide exceptional experience for the patient on the phone and in person by creating a seamless and efficient scheduling, check-in and check-out process.

4) Correspond with patients on the phone, text, email, fax in a timely manner

5) Schedule patients, authorize insurance benefits, prep charts

6) Maintain patient records

7) Operate different instruments and learn new technology

8) Verify glasses, contact lenses and provide contact lens trainings

9) Cleaning and following sanitation protocols

Hourly compensation will be commensurate with experience

Pay: $20.14 - $28.75 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
