Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and be committed to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for surgery by conducting thorough assessments and ensuring all necessary medical documentation is completed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans, focusing on case management and patient education.
  • Perform nursing duties related to the operating room, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing anesthesia as directed.
  • Provide specialized care for patients requiring tube feeding and ostomy care, ensuring comfort and safety throughout their surgical experience.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate efficient surgical procedures.
  • Maintain sterile environments and adhere to infection control protocols at all times.
  • Document all nursing interventions accurately in the medical office system, including Athenahealth, to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training programs to enhance skills related to spinal taps and home care practices.
  • Support patients with disabilities by adapting care practices to meet their unique needs.

Experience

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Previous experience in an operating room or surgical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation processes and case management principles is essential.
  • Experience working with patients who have disabilities is a plus.
  • Knowledge of home care practices and procedures related to tube feeding and ostomy care will be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth is desirable.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $75.00 - $76.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
