Role Summary
Join our team as an experienced technician focused on troubleshooting, routine and moderate repairs, and ongoing care of mechanical equipment and plant machinery.
Shifts
- Second Shift: 2:30pm – 10:30pm
- Third Shift: 10:30pm – 6:30am
- Both shifts include rotating weekends; training on first shift is required.
What You’ll Do
- Execute preventive maintenance according to established PM procedures.
- Conduct visual checks; verify fluid levels; lubricate, clean, tighten, and adjust components; replace worn parts; and calibrate sensors and gauges.
- Run diagnostic tests to evaluate machinery condition, performance, and functionality.
- Troubleshoot faults using tests, symptom analysis, and diagnostic tools to isolate root causes.
- Identify necessary materials, replacement parts, and tools to complete minor to moderate repairs.
- Document maintenance and repairs, including parts used and work performed, and offer recommendations for future adjustments or fixes as needed.
- Proactively inspect and maintain shop tools/equipment to keep them in reliable working order.
- Manage supplies by checking inventory, placing orders, receiving, and verifying deliveries against receipts; request replenishment of commonly used items.
- Support projects to install, modify, or relocate production machinery and equipment.
- Work from technical documents: diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, blueprints, schematics, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Provide clear feedback on ongoing equipment issues.
- Complete paperwork such as work orders, parts request forms, RCA reports, PM inspection sheets, runtime inspection sheets, and downtime reports.
- Follow guidance from senior mechanics and assist junior mechanics with routine questions.
- Adhere to plant operations and company safety procedures and practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High School diploma (or equivalent) typically required; 2–4 years of relevant experience.
Skills & Knowledge
- Proficient with selecting and operating hand, power, and specialty tools, plus diagnostic equipment.
- Working knowledge of automated industrial machinery and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and work orders.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and effective communication of issues and solutions.
- Capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience troubleshooting, disassembling, and reassembling manufacturing equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively with limited supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software.
