Part-Time Board Operator
Overview:

Salem Media – San Francisco is offering an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Board Operator for our cluster of radio stations: KDOW, KTRB, and KFAX. This role involves overseeing live studio operations, executing station formats, managing logs, and producing audio content. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about radio broadcasting.


Responsibilities:
  • Operate the live studio console for KDOW, KTRB, and KFAX, ensuring smooth on-air broadcasts.
  • Execute and maintain station formats, ensuring consistency and compliance with broadcast guidelines.
  • Pay close attention to FCC rules and transmitter readings will be conducted throughout shift
  • Maintain accurate logs of on-air activity, including commercials, programming, and breaks.
  • Record programs for podcasts and delayed broadcasts.
  • Perform various production duties, including editing and producing audio for commercials and station content.
  • Utilize Windows-based computer systems and automation software (Enco or similar).
  • Operate and troubleshoot audio editing software (Adobe Audition or Pro Tools) to enhance program content.
  • Monitor and maintain remote transmitter equipment and address any technical issues.
Qualifications:
  • College education preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of radio broadcast experience.
  • Strong familiarity with audio automation systems, audio boards, recording equipment, and phone screener software.
  • Experience with Enco (or similar automation system) and audio editing software (Adobe Audition, Pro Tools) is highly preferred.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and prompt in meeting deadlines and managing tasks.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Must have a passion for the stations and their content.
