Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with a focus on creating exquisite pastries and desserts that delight our customers. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Pastry Cook, you will play a key role in our kitchen, contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair to enhance visual appeal.
  • Ensure all food preparation meets safety and hygiene standards by adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Package baked goods for sale or service while maintaining quality and freshness.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new dessert offerings and seasonal specials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of baking supplies and ingredients.

Skills

  • Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in pastry preparation and baking.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
  • Proficiency in cake decorating techniques, including fondant, icing, and other decorative elements.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and preparation.
  • Familiarity with various kitchen equipment used for baking and food preparation.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 27 per week
