FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt

Multiple locations serve Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and surrounding states with crane rentals and service.
Description Summary:
The Permit Coordinator assists in the administration and coordination of the entire fleet of commercial motor vehicles for the company. He/she monitors the issuing of permits for Motor Carrier purposes. This individual typically works under limited supervision and is expected to work as long necessary to perform his/her job responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Receives and compiles fuel reports.
- Files the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) for licenses and stickers every 90 days on all equipment, travel, and diesel fuel used for entire organization.
- Files the Highway Use Tax (HUT) on tractors that travel (loaded & unloaded) miles every 90 days.
- Compiles and files personal property taxes for vehicles, fuel, and equipment used in each state and for every branch.
- Files and distributes HazMat licenses and maintain recordkeeping for all branches.
- Files Motor Carrier reports annually on all equipment and travel by all company vehicles.
- Monitors the alert of new requirements for licenses, mileage, vehicle identification and title numbers.
- Notifies the Department of Motor Vehicles, log, and assign a unit number upon any purchasing/changes/sale of equipment.
- Other duties as assigned by the Corporate Logistics Manager which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications of the position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
- Knowledge of DOT policies, practices, guidelines, taxes, and licensing.
- Skill in customer service.
- Skill in using computers and standard software applications and specialized permitting software.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must have proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test.
Desired:
- Prefer candidates with at least a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Transportation experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
