- Performs services on behalf of the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and Office of of Pharmacy and Clinical Support Services.
- Enters medication orders into IDHS computer system and records/logs issuing of controlled substances.
- Delivers medications to recipient units or to transport vehicles.
- Performs stockkeeping and inventory functions.
- Performs routine inspections on medication rooms for unlabeled, unused, or expired drugs.
- Attends and actively participates in mandatory training.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years’ of high school.
- Requires Illinois registration as a registered certified pharmacy technician.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title
- Requires ability to lift and carry medication containers and supplies weighing up to 50lbs for an extended period.
- Requires ability to utilize computer equipment and learn data entry necessary for pharmacy function and record keeping.
- Requires ability to maintain current licensure and registration with Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations (IDFPR) and completes all required Continuing Education (CE).
- Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
