Philanthropy Coordinator

Are you ready to advance your career while making a meaningful difference? Swinburne University is seeking a dynamic and innovative Philanthropy Coordinator to join our passionate Advancement team.

In this key role, you will help drive the growth of philanthropy at Swinburne by cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, coordinating the Gift in Wills program, and delivering inspiring philanthropy communications. Working closely with senior team members, you will support the donor funded scholarships portfolio, bespoke campaign and stewardship opportunities, and engaging events.

You will be part of a collaborative, dedicated, and high-performing team committed to making a lasting impact. The role combines strategic thinking, creativity, and excellent communication skills to support the University’s philanthropic initiatives and help achieve ambitious fundraising targets.

Please note that from time to time this position also requires work outside of normal hours to attend events including early morning and evenings.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, business administration, or business development, including knowledge of appropriate fundraising concepts, methods, and practices .
  • Strong people engagement, relationship development and customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to proofread documents accurately and in a timely manner to generate correspondence and reports.
  • Sophisticated written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life, including senior university leaders and major donors.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, and ability to successfully manage projects, both independently and alongside colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team who is committed to making a difference, ideally within the donor funded scholarships area in higher education.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft software package (Outlook, Teams, word, Excel, PowerPoint).


Qualifications
Completion of relevant qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, experience, or education/training.
