Pocc Program Coordinator Ii

TITLE: POCC Program Coordinator

REPORTS TO: POCC Programs Manager


POSITION:

The POCC Program Coordinator is responsible for successfully supporting the POCC Community Experts, assisting the POCC Community Experts with facilitation training, and mentoring leaders on dispute resolution techniques.

The Mission of the Peers Organizing Community Change (POCC) is to improve the quality of life for Alameda County residents with mental health issues and/or substance use issues in their settings.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Program Manager to plan, develop, implement, and coordinate the POCC program to meet county deliverables.
  • Coordinate logistics for committee meetings, training, and events related to the POCC program.
  • Assist POCC Community Experts with reporting and group dynamics
  • Assist with documentation of committees for data collection
  • Partner with POCC Community Experts on the policy and procedure of the POCC and provide reports to the Office of Peer Support Services
  • Work with POCC Alameda County staff to track program deliverables.
  • Monitor costs for all program-related activities, ensuring appropriate tracking of budget items.
  • Purchasing items needed for POCC program events
  • Review and Approve invoices for Community Experts

SPECIFICATIONS, QUALIFICATIONS, and COMPETENCY FACTORS

  • Experience as a mental health consumer/peer is at the core of our mission and vision. We seek someone who understands that we are a peer-run and operated organization that honors lived experience as an expert in the mental health field.
  • Commitment to demonstrating the mission, vision, and values of PEERS and the POCC.
  • Absolute commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
  • Exceptional training in public speaking, presenting, and group facilitation skills.
  • Possession of necessary skills and experience to successfully coordinate all aspects of a mental health peer program.
  • Experience working with diverse groups, specifically in urban areas, and being comfortable with individuals with a large divergence of personal Mental Health experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse teams and individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative, work independently, and meet project deadlines and expectations.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a car is desirable.
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND JOB SETTING

  • Program headquarters is a standard office setting on the second floor of an office building, requiring an elevator or stairs for access.
  • Innovative, mental health consumer-driven organization with strong ties to the community.
  • An environment with diverse populations who routinely come in for workshops or training.
  • Business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, with some weekends and evenings.

Employment Status/Compensation:

  • Full-time, in-office, Non-Exempt (hourly) employee with benefits
  • Annual Compensation Range: 58,000 - 62,000 annually
