Position Summary
The principal role is essential in maintaining the quality and reliability of software systems. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced lead to join our Automation & Testing COE team. You will be accountable for our software quality and trust outcome. The main goal is to provide technical leadership for Customer Care complex projects, ensuring the team's work and supported products meet quality standards.
The candidate should have prior experience with customer-facing, billing systems, outage management systems, and meter data management system. From the vision the Product Owner forms well defined user stories, prioritizes user stories and backlog and provides a clear-time line of the product to test strategy and align with test approach. The Principal Product Owner focuses on enhancing the end-user experience and will design and implement an enterprise test strategy to to continuously improve our use of quality principals and best practices. They are responsible for establishing quality standards that guide a roadmap to achieve their vision and deliver strong test results. Builds and maintains relationships that allow the Product Owner to act as the customer proxy. Proficient in Power BI and Power Automate for creating comprehensive reports and automation.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $147,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $251,000.00
Job Responsibilities
Identifies the developmental needs of others, and coaches and mentors’ others to improve their knowledge or skills.
Identifies the appropriate customer audience, their preferred communication channels, and potential customer response benchmarks.
Leads complex or major projects with high corporate or functional priority in Customer Care including Billing Modernization, Rates Initiatives and Customer Facing.
Strong ability to navigate and create successful relationship across diverse organization at all levels of leadership
Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and methodologies, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
Develops implementation plans and establish teams to introduce new technology and/or tools
Product owner, owning the governance, standards, intake and provide technical expertise to lead and manage performance and test automation framework
Analyzes work plan and schedules to reallocate resources or reprioritize program work.
Track performance on multi-spectrum of Project Quality KPIs across all key initiatives and programs
Ensure the team is focused on achieving quality outcomes and guiding towards success.
You will help teams inspect, adapt, deliver, and mature. Standardize test data and environments, leveraging technology to enhance quality assurance and transform it into a leading innovation hub for enterprise next-gen Testing COE-ready platforms.
Qualifications
Minimum:
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
7 years job-related experience
Desired:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Strong presentation: Create and maintain slides deck for executive meetings. Report results and progress weekly
Experience with Power BI to build operating reports and key performance indicators. Support centralized standardization of all metrics, modeling, and data visualization across automation teams
Strong business understanding and advanced expertise in many functional areas and/or systems for the business unit(s) supported. Ability to create and maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure full test coverage
Working knowledge of relational databases, including database querying
Experience as Agile environment
Self-starter takes initiative to drive continuous improvement and excellence and can work independently
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with geographically distributed cross-functional teams
Hands-on experience applying software quality methodologies within many development teams
