About the Opportunity
Powertek is expanding our analytics and renewable advisory team. We are recruiting a Principal Wind/Solar Resource Analyst focused on Arctic and remote region renewable assessments. This role bridges technical analytics with practical engineering solutions for resource characterization and renewable integration in challenging environments.
Responsibilities
- Execute advanced wind and solar resource studies using measured data and modeling tools.
- Provide high-fidelity analytics for renewable feasibility, energy yield, and performance forecasting.
- Lead data acquisition campaigns, including remote sensors and environmental instrumentation.
- Collaborate with power systems engineers on hybrid generation strategy and integration optimization.
- Deliver client-ready documentation, resource maps, and technical recommendations.
- Act as Powertek’s subject-matter expert on northern climate impacts and renewable resource viability.
Minimum Qualifications
- Registered P.Eng in Yukon or eligible for licensure in Yukon (Canada).
- 5+ years experience in renewable resource analytics (wind and solar).
- Direct experience with Arctic or high-latitude renewable projects or environmental datasets.
- Proficiency with resource assessment software (e.g., WindPRO, Meteodyn, PVSyst, SAM).
- Strong analytical and communication skills with proven project leadership.
