Product Design Manager

The role

FDJ United is looking for a Sportsbook Product Design Manager to shape the design strategy, and drive the user experience and overall aesthetic of our Sportsbook products. In this role, you will lead a dynamic design team based across Europe and Sydney, steering the short-term roadmap and long-term vision for the FDJ United's Sportsbook Platform. You will be responsible for creating seamless, intuitive, and consistent user journeys, collaborating closely with business stakeholders and tech management. Additionally, you will work closely with product engineering leads to guarantee the successful launch of high-quality Sportsbook experiences. By leveraging data, you will drive continuous optimization to boost user engagement.

This role will also manage team capacity, resources, and cross-functional alignment. Given the distributed nature of our team, some flexibility in working hours is required to collaborate effectively across time zones.

What you will do

• Leadership: Define and execute the design vision for the Sportsbook products and the vision transition planning, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
• UX Strategy: Defining and implementing the product experience design strategy and collaborate closely with Sportsbook leadership to ensure alignment.
• Team Management: Build, lead, and direct a high-performing design team, fostering a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and continuous improvement while inspiring the team to achieve their best.
• Roadmap and Scoping: Drive the creation and scoping of the experience roadmap.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business owners and product engineering leads to ensure well-defined requirements and successful deliveries.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate between engineering, design, and business teams to ensure deliveries are well-defined and experience requirements are clear.
• Design Delivery: Provide direction and leadership for experience design, drive and deliver high-quality results with speed, and ensure seamless execution and successful delivery.
• Innovation: Stay current on industry trends, drive product innovation, and integrate emerging technologies into the design.
• Data-Driven Approach: Utilize analytics, CX data, and personalization insights to identify improvement opportunities, optimize user experience, and create tailored user journeys.
• Prioritization: Actively collaborate on feature prioritization and roadmap planning in partnership with business and tech stakeholders.
• UX Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end UX alignment with product goals and ensure consistant and seamless UX across platforms.
• Testing & Research: Be part of core group for defining priorities for A/B testing and user research to inform continuous improvements.

Your experience

• 8+ years of UX/UI design experience in tech industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in Sportsbook, iGaming, or related industries
• Proven leadership in managing and inspiring design teams in an agile environment
• Experience in building, growing, and developing high-performing UX teams
• Proven ability to manage and influence key stakeholders, aligning design priorities with business goals while ensuring design integrity
• Ability to use data-driven insights to optimize design and user engagement
• Expertise in design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Miro, Jira, Confluence, UserTesting, and Google Analytics
• Demonstrated success in defining, improving, and standardizing design processes
• Ability to pivot and adapt to changing priorities, user needs, and market demands
• Passion for sports and basic knowledge of the field
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly to stakeholders and build strong, collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of Sportsbook operations, betting markets, and customer behavior is a preferred qualification
• Experience in a regulated sports betting environment and knowledge of AI driven personalization in design are a plus
