Role Overview

As a Product Owner specializing in FP&A at Claryx, you'll directly shape the future of financial intelligence tools that empower CFOs and FP&A teams. Ideal for professionals with deep FP&A experience interested in transitioning into product leadership, you will leverage your financial planning expertise to guide product strategy, define impactful features, and build exceptional user experiences tailored to financial decision-makers.

What You'll Do

• FP&A Domain Leadership: Own product areas related to FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, variance analysis, and reporting.
• Customer Discovery & Validation: Conduct extensive user research with CFOs, financial controllers, and FP&A teams. Identify critical pain points and translate them into clearly defined product requirements.
• Roadmap Ownership: Prioritize FP&A-specific features and enhancements across our core product pillars—Intelligence Layer, Platform APIs, and Ecosystem integrations.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between FP&A users and our engineering, AI/ML, design, and go-to-market teams. Ensure products align tightly with customer workflows and business objectives.
• Metrics & Iteration: Define and measure success metrics, run experiments, and make data-informed decisions to continuously improve product adoption and customer satisfaction.
• Market & Competitive Insight: Monitor trends in FP&A, financial technology, and competitor tools (Fathom, Syft, Cube, etc.), identifying strategic opportunities for differentiation.
• Customer Success: Partner closely with early customers to ensure adoption, gather feedback, and drive continuous product improvement.

What We're Looking For

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CFA, CPA, MBA, or additional finance certifications are strong pluses.
• FP&A Expertise: Minimum 3–5 years of direct experience in financial planning & analysis. Hands-on expertise in:
  Budgeting, forecasting, and rolling forecasts
  Variance and scenario analyses
  Financial modeling and business case preparation
  Experience with FP&A tools or ERP systems (Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Cube, Hyperion, NetSuite IBM Planning Analytics etc)
• Product or Technology Interest: Prior product management or product ownership experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Strong interest and enthusiasm for product development, SaaS, and AI-driven finance tools required.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to synthesize complex financial processes into clear, actionable requirements. Comfort using analytics tools, Excel and data visualization tools.
• Customer-Centric Approach: Genuine empathy for finance professionals, exceptional interviewing skills, and ability to translate user insights into product decisions.
• Communication & Influence: Outstanding ability to communicate clearly and persuasively across both financial and technical stakeholders. Comfortable influencing decisions and collaborating across teams.
