Manage two Summer Term High School Programs: Research Internship in Science and Engineering (RISE) and Academic Immersion (AIM). Responsible for overall operation of the RISE and AIM programs, including all program communications to students and research faculty. Responsible for supervising the admission processes for both programs, making admission decisions, and advising students on academic issues. Place RISE students in appropriate research laboratories and recruit RISE faculty mentors in science and engineering departments. Includes analysis of mentor and mentee research interests, and pairing of mentor/mentees who share overlapping scientific interests. Oversee all RISE research and RISE Seminars, as well as AIM academic events, including RISE orientations and the RISE poster symposium. Mediate any issues that arise related to rule infractions, mentor/mentee relations, or parental concerns. Represent the RISE and AIM programs to the Boston University community and the general public. This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours.
Required Skills

Masters Degree, PhD preferred. Three to five years relevant experience. Broad knowledge of scientific research at the University level, ability to communicate effectively with both faculty and high school students about scientific research, professionalism, strong administrative skills and attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, enthusiasm for creating educational opportunities for high school students. Some evening and weekend hours are necessary during the summer.
