The Role
SRG Global is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in industrial coatings of structural steel to deliver critical works on one of New Zealand’s most iconic assets – the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
You will be responsible for managing and delivering industrial coatings renewal works on the Auckland Harbour Bridge. The role blends engineering, operations, and commercial management, with a strong focus on coatings quality, safety and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Managing site teams, supervisors, subcontractors, and resources
- Planning and programming coatings and maintenance activities
- Cost estimation, job cost tracking, forecasting, and cost-to-complete reporting
- Quality assurance of surface preparation, application, and inspection processes
- Relationship management with client, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Project administration, reporting, and documentation
- Ensuring full compliance with HSEQ requirements
- Supporting continuous improvement across systems and delivery
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in project delivery, maintenance, or construction
- Experience across significant structural steel coatings projects
- Leadership capability managing site teams and subcontractors
- Strong commercial, planning, and quality management skills
- Programming experience (MS Project or Primavera P6 preferred)
- AMPP Coatings Inspector qualification or equivalent (desirable).
- Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (desirable)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working at heights
