Psychiatrist (Associate Role)

Vera Mental Health Clinic is expanding its multidisciplinary team and is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our clinic on a sessional, associate basis.

This role is ideal for psychiatrists who wish to work within a professionally governed clinical environment while maintaining full clinical autonomy.

Role Overview

The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and medical management for adults, including neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, working collaboratively with psychologists and other clinicians within the clinic.

All clinical work is delivered in line with best practice standards, Irish regulatory requirements, and Vera Mental Health’s clinical governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations
• Provide ADHD and Autism assessments in line with recognised clinical guidelines
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medication where appropriate
• Complete clear, timely, and professional clinical documentation and reports
• Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration with psychologists and therapists
• Identify and manage clinical risk in line with safeguarding procedures
• Maintain high standards of ethical and professional practice

Requirements

• Medical degree with specialist training in Psychiatry
• Registration with the Irish Medical Council (Specialist Register preferred)
• Right to work in Ireland
• Experience in ADHD and/or Autism assessments (essential)
• Strong clinical judgment, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently within a private practice setting
