About the Job

Throne is disrupting bathroom infrastructure. We are massively expanding access to lovable bathrooms. We leverage custom hardware with a cloud-connected IOT suite, historical data, and real-time user cleanliness ratings to inform operations and provide a consistently clean bathroom experience. Thrones are designed and built with proprietary technology, including mechanical components, plumbing, sensors, electrical components, onboard processing, cellular connectivity, and solar/battery power systems.

Thrones are manufactured in Bristol and Elkhart, IN, and then shipped for deployment around the country, including Washington, DC, Los Angeles, the California Bay Area, and Ann Arbor, MI. We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant to work with the purchasing team and prepare for large-scale production. The ideal candidate is excited about being part of a rapidly growing start-up and has a can-do attitude, ability to solve problems, and willingness to do what’s necessary to get things done.

You will report to the Purchasing Manager, including working closely with Throne’s extended team, our suppliers, and contract manufacturers. This role comprises purchasing agent, logistics, and inventory control duties.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Manage daily parts requests received from Throne's internal markets.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory movement to each market.
• Packages and labels part transfers before shipping them out, using materials supplied by management or vendor specifications as needed.
• Receives goods that arrive at the warehouse and makes sure that they are recorded accurately in the system.
• Work with vendors to purchase goods or services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the organization.
• Assist with warranty claims and repairs involving parts replacement and coordination with our contract manufacturers.
• Monitor inventory levels and restock goods when needed.

Hard Skills Required

• Proficient in written and verbal communication
• Analyze data and trends in the industry
• Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and inventory management systems
• Ability to maintain a professional rapport with suppliers, vendors, and customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with ERP software
• Cost analysis and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with logistics and distribution
• Competence with forklift operation
• Understanding of risk management and application of retrospectives and lessons learned
• OSHA 10 certification preferred
• Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: Supply chain management, inventory management, and supplier relations
