We are currently recruiting for Purchasing Officer at our Almere office in the Netherlands.

The Purchasing Officer will have a key role in managing day-to-day purchasing activities, coordinating import and export processes, and supporting supply chain efficiency within a regulated medical device environment. The role focuses on ensuring timely and compliant procurement of materials and services, maintaining accurate purchasing data, optimizing costs, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external suppliers to support production and operational goals.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for direct and indirect materials, consumables, and services

  • Create, track, and expedite purchase orders using the ERP system

  • Monitor supplier performance, pricing, lead times, and delivery reliability

  • Ensure timely availability of materials to support production and planning needs

  • Coordinate import and export activities, including shipment documentation and customs requirements

  • Liaise with freight forwarders and customs agents to ensure smooth logistics flows

  • Track inbound and outbound shipments and maintain accurate logistics records

  • Analyse procurement and logistics data to monitor KPIs and identify improvement opportunities

  • Prepare reports and dashboards on purchasing status, costs, and supplier performance

  • Collaborate with production, planning, finance, QA/RA, and warehouse teams

  • Support audits with purchasing and shipment documentation

Your skills and experience

Essential:

3–5 years of experience in procurement and logistics within a regulated industry (preferably medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare)
Hands-on experience managing international shipments and understanding import/export and trade compliance requirements
Strong experience working with ERP systems for purchasing and inventory management (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics)
Strong analytical skills with experience in procurement data analysis and reporting
High attention to detail and strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable:
Experience with data analysis or reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
Experience working closely with QA/RA in a regulated environment
English and Dutch language skills (spoken and written)
Experience in process improvement or cost optimization initiatives
