Purchasing Officer / Demand Planner

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Officer / Demand Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and materials aligned with forecasted demand. This hybrid role combines strategic sourcing with analytical forecasting to support smooth operations and inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate will possess technical proficiency in demand planning systems, Excel-based forecasting, and a sound understanding of procurement processes within food or non-food industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct supplier sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of raw materials, packaging, and indirect supplies
  • Ensure purchase orders are accurately prepared, approved, and processed on time
  • Evaluate vendor performance and maintain supplier relationships for reliability and cost-efficiency
  • Analyze historical data, market trends, and production schedules to develop accurate demand forecasts
  • Collaborate with operations and inventory teams to align planning with production timelines
  • Utilize demand planning tools and Excel formulas to model scenarios and optimize forecasts
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend reorder points based on consumption and forecasted demand
  • Support cost-control initiatives by identifying opportunities for price reduction and supply efficiency
  • Maintain and update planning systems and procurement records
  • Prepare and present reports on demand accuracy, supplier performance, and purchasing metrics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred) or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in purchasing and/or demand planning within the food or non-food industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data modeling
  • Experienced in using demand planning software and ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills with attention to accuracy and detail
  • Familiarity with forecasting methodologies, procurement workflows, and vendor management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php25,000.00 per month
