• Base Salary: Commensurate with Experience
  • Salary Progression by Total Work Terms Completed:
    • Work Term 1 (first work term): $22.50 pr/hr
    • Work Term 2: $24.00 pr/hr
    • Work Term 3: $27.00 pr/hr
    • Work Term 4: $28.00 pr/hr
    • Work term 5: $29.00 pr/hr
    • Work term 6: $30.00 pr/hr
• Duration: September 3rd to December 20th, 2024

Python Software Developer Intern

Safe Software is looking for a Python Software Developer Intern to join our Integrations development team. This is a four-month, full-time placement with opportunity for extension.

Our student internships have the opportunity to be hybrid/on-premise at our office based in Surrey, BC, Canada. In order to provide the best onboarding and mentorship experience, this position will require the intern to work on-premise at least 2 days per week at our office based in Surrey, BC, Canada. The remaining 3 days can be worked remotely from home.

About The Team

The Integrations Team works to optimize the use of open source and commercial third-party components in our desktop, server, cloud-based, and mobile applications. Some of the team’s primary focus areas are to: manage our third-party component usage to protect our source code and reputation, enable legal compliance, and reduce security vulnerabilities through issue identification and remediation.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Python Software Developer Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Maintain software at scale, building scripts to automate and simplify large tasks
• Obtain an insider's view into the world of software compliance and security vulnerabilities
• Apply and extend your git skills in a software company with over 20 years of version control
• Receive feedback in a safe environment from your team-mates on how to write efficient and maintainable code
• Work alongside great people who genuinely care about your wellbeing

• Technical skills:
  • Programming in Python
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience using IDEs for software development

• You‘re willing and able to collaborate with others and exchange meaningful feedback
• You’re able to work well with minimal supervision in a remote team environment, and are motivated to learn new technologies and skills
