Join Ashtead Technology as QHSE Advisor for our Norway facility!
In this role you will champion safety, quality, and environmental compliance for our Norway facility. You will work closely with site management to drive QHSE initiatives, ensure adherence to policies and regulatory standards, and support continuous improvement through audits, training, and reporting. - Health & Safety: Working closely with site management to ensure adherence to QHSE policies, safe working practices, and the Integrated Management System (IMS), while supporting the delivery of company, site, and departmental objectives and KPIs. You’ll also contribute to QHSE pre-qualifications, bid submissions, and reports, helping showcase our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
- Quality Management: Supporting QHSE audits, including ISO certification, internal, supplier, and customer audits, ensuring timely closure of any resulting actions. You will also play a key part in driving the continual improvement of an effective Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Training & Awareness: providing QHSE advice, guidance, and training to colleagues, supporting the development and delivery of safety training programs, initiatives, and campaigns. You will partner with the HR team to ensure compliance with onboarding and induction processes, work with operations and HR to drive adherence to Training and Competence frameworks, and manage occupational health and hygiene requirements across all sites.
- Environmental Management: Coordinating QHSE and waste management data to effectively showcase the company’s commitment to ESG initiatives.
- Systems Policies & Compliance: monitoring and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and statutory obligations related to health, safety, environment, and workplace welfare. You will conduct risk and special assessments as required, covering areas such as display screen equipment, manual handling, lone working, and considerations for new or expectant mothers and young workers. Additionally, you will manage the permit system, ensuring timely release of approved permit documentation and effective oversight of simultaneous operations.
- Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Collaborating with managers and teams to report and investigate unplanned events, driving resolution and continuous improvement.
- Emergency Preparedness & Response: Coordinating routine drills and tests, such as fire drills, while engaging regularly with site first-aiders and fire wardens to ensure their roles and responsibilities are clearly understood and effectively executed. You will also maintain on-site QHSE equipment, including first aid kits, eye-wash stations, and defibrillator units, ensuring readiness and compliance at all times.
What experience you’ll bring:
- Degree or qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related field
- Proven experience as a QHSE Advisor with knowledge of regulations, standards, and management systems
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001; auditor certification advantageous
- You have experience managing risks associated with heavy machinery, specifically lifting and pulling
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
