A Qualified Carpenter is a skilled tradesperson who constructs, installs, repairs, and maintains structures and fixtures made from wood, metal, and other materials.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret building plans, drawings, and specifications.
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble construction materials.
Install doors, windows, flooring, roofing, framing, cabinetry, and other fixtures.
Construct and repair residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely.
Ensure work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.
Collaborate with builders, architects, and other tradespeople.
Inspect and maintain completed work.
Skills Required
Proficiency with carpentry tools and equipment.
Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong mathematical and measuring skills.
Physical fitness and manual dexterity.
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Knowledge of construction methods and safety practices.
Typical Qualifications
Trade certificate, apprenticeship, or vocational qualification in carpentry.
Relevant industry experience.
Knowledge of local building regulations.
In some countries, a carpenter may need licensing or registration.
Pay: $4,500.00 – $7,500.00 per month
