Job SummaryPer Diem, Rotate
This is a Temporary Position. A Radiology Extern is responsible and accountable for cleaning and setting up equipment and assisting technologists and other healthcare workers in order to provide quality patient care and services. Organize work assignments, conduct-imaging room set up, patient verification, explain procedures to patients; help in patient transfers from and to beds, and wheelchairs. Maintain the supplies room, set up exam rooms, and accurately position patients on applicable equipment for exams. Ensure patient comfort; engage patients and coworkers in ethical conduct, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Radiology Extern is responsible for bringing patients to and from various facility departments. The Radiology Extern must make a positive identification of the patient, verify with nursing the mode of transport and any special needs (IV pumps, O2 tank, etc) that may be required for care in transit or for the procedural requested. He/She is a communication link between Nursing and the various departments. While the patient is in transit, they are responsible for communicating any continued care needs of the patient to Nursing or the Specialty area.

- Reports for scheduled shift on time and prepared to assume responsibilities
- Adheres to Corporate, Regional, Hospital and departmental policy and procedure 100% of the time.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent, and Current enrollment or recent completion in a Radiology ProgramExperience:
Previous healthcare experience preferredLicenses:
- None
Certifications:
- BLS/CPR (AMERICAN HEART ASSN)
